If cooling is your top priority, I think the Aurora Luxe is the standout mattress in Brooklyn Bedding’s lineup. This is the mattress I have personally been testing, and it’s also the model I would recommend first to anyone who naturally sleeps warm.
The Aurora Luxe combines several cooling technologies instead of relying on just one. It starts with the GlacioTex cooling cover, which provides an immediately cool-to-the-touch feel. Underneath, there are breathable comfort foams and individually wrapped coils that help improve airflow throughout the mattress, reducing the heat buildup that’s common with traditional all-foam beds.
One thing I appreciated during testing was that it never felt overly cold. Instead, it maintained a balanced, temperature-neutral feel that allowed me to simply stop thinking about being too warm at night. That may not sound super exciting, but for someone who regularly flips their pillow searching for the cool side, it’s actually a huge compliment.

If you don’t necessarily struggle with overheating every night but still want a supportive hybrid mattress, this one offers that sweet balance between performance and affordability.
Best for Athletes: Spartan
The Spartan is one of the more unique mattresses in Brooklyn Bedding’s lineup. It’s designed specifically with active lifestyles in mind, emphasizing recovery, support, and cooling for people who train regularly.
Like the Aurora Luxe, the Spartan incorporates cooling materials, but the overall design focuses on helping athletes recover comfortably after demanding workouts. The top fabric weave creates waves of energy that produce better blood flow, which can promote a more restful sleep and faster muscle recovery. It also has copper-infused foam, which offers antimicrobial and cooling benefits. Additionally, the zoned coils help provide pressure point relief while decreasing motion transfer with couples.
While I haven’t personally tested the Spartan yet, I think it’s an interesting option for runners, cyclists, weightlifters, or anyone who takes their recovery seriously and wants a mattress designed with performance in mind.

Brooklyn Bedding vs. Helix

While scrolling through the lineup at Leesa, it’s clear the company focuses on well-rounded mattresses that can fit a general audience, rather than focusing on very specific features. With that said, they do have a Choice collection that features handcrafted mattresses based on customer feedback. Some mattresses in this collection are the Plus (for bigger bodies), Natural, and Kids.
If you want a straightforward mattress without thinking too much about features, Leesa is a solid choice. But if you’ve identified a specific sleep issue, especially overheating, Brooklyn Bedding offers more targeted options.
Is Brooklyn Bedding Worth It?
I honestly think Brooklyn Bedding is one of the more underrated mattress brands available today. It may not have the same name recognition (yet!) as Helix, Saatva, or Leesa, but after testing the Aurora Luxe for several months and exploring the rest of the lineup, it’s clear that the company is producing thoughtfully designed mattresses with strong attention to cooling, support, and overall value.
The fact that the mattresses are made in the United States is another nice bonus, and the variety within the lineup means most shoppers can find something that fits both their sleep preferences and their budget.
