Latest posts by Sleep Solutions HQ Team (see all)

Are you sleeping hot? You’re not alone. Whether you’re waking up sweaty in the middle of the night or just can’t get comfortable enough to fall asleep, temperature-regulating your sleep could be the solution. Chilipad is one of the best-known options for sweaty sleepers. It uses water technology to heat and cool your existing mattress, and has a sleep tracking feature available if you want better insights into your sleep habits.

But it’s not the only solution out there, and there are several products that do the same thing for less or have more advanced features.

Here are my picks for the top Chilipad alternatives.

The Best Chilipad Alternatives

Top Chilipad Alternatives

How I Chose These Alternatives

Here’s what I looked for when choosing alternatives that do similar things to what the Chilipad does:

  • Temperature control– This is kinda the whole point, so it should come as no surprise. All of these help regulate sleep temperature for better rest.
  • Comfort– High-quality materials, smart integrations, or extra adjustability were features I was on the lookout for.
  • Tech– I looked for sleep tech via app control, sensors, or AI for a more advanced sleep solution.
  • Noise– I wanted something that made little to no noise or white noise-like sound if it did.
  • Price and value– Some of these alternatives are investments, but I wanted options for folks on a budget, too.

What Is Chilipad?

Chilipad by SleepMe is a bed cooling/warming system that also has a dock option to track your sleep habits through an app. They have a few different offerings that help regulate sleep temperature and track sleeping, including a regular cooling/warming mattress pad called the cube and the Chilipad Dock Pro Bundle that comes with the sleep tracking feature.

The pad itself comes in the form of a mattress cover that uses a system of microtubes that circulate water to heat and cool each side of the bed depending on you and your sleeping partner’s preferences, with an app to control temperature and adaptive automatic features to adjust temperature while you sleep.

Price: from $3,239.00 for the Dock Pro Bundle

Pros

  • Wide temperature range (55°F-115°F)

Why it’s a good alternative to ChiliPad: It’s like ChiliPad, but smarter, with AI-driven temp regulation and more advanced sleep tracking.

If you want the most advanced sleep tech, this is it. The Eight Sleep Pod uses water-based cooling like ChiliPad, but adds biometric tracking, dual-zone temp control, and AI that adjusts temp while you sleep.

The app gives you real-time data and trends on your sleeping habits, so you can really invest in your sleep like a pro athlete. It’s a pricey option, but if sleep is a priority, it’s worth the dough.

BedJet

Best for instant cooling/heating air

Why it’s a good alternative to ChiliPad: Instead of water, it uses air for faster climate control, which is great for night sweaters. It’s also way cheaper.

BedJet cools or heats your bed with a blast of air under your fitted sheet- no water tubes involved. It’s the best choice if you want instant results and prefer airflow over radiant heat from water.

You can customize everything through the remote or app, and the setup is simple. It can feel a bit intense at first, but with fine-tuning, it becomes one of the most comfortable climate systems out there.

It’s great for people who want a normal-feeling mattress but have a tough time staying cool through the night. You don’t get real-time controls, but you do get comfort, relief, and an overall cooling sensation for a good night’s sleep every night.

Best for simple, breathable cooling comforters

Why it’s a good alternative to ChiliPad: If you want a cooling effect for an affordable price without wires, water, or noise, this is your go-to.

Buffy Breeze is the lowest-tech option here, but I feel like that’s the beauty of it.

Made with eucalyptus fiber and an ultra-breathable design, this cooling comforter helps hot sleepers stay cool without advanced features like plugs, buttons, or settings.

It’s hypoallergenic, super soft, and works really well for folks who want to keep cool without making a huge investment in an advanced sleeping pad or a whole new mattress. If you don’t need active cooling, this could be an affordable solution.

  • No electricity needed
  • Eco-friendly eucalyptus fill

So, Which One Is the Best Chilipad Alternative?

If you want the smartest, most feature-rich replacement, the Eight Sleep Pod is easily my top pick.

For faster, airflow-based cooling, BedJet is perfect, especially for my sweaty sleepers out there.

But if you just want to sleep cooler for an affordable price and don’t want to invest in a whole new gadget, the Buffy Breeze is an excellent choice.
