I don’t know how many times I’ve seen Brooklinen advertised in YouTube videos. First, they got my attention because I’m always on the hunt for sheets that’ll make going to bed that much more magical. Once they caught my attention, I started noticing alternatives, too. You know how it goes. Once you click one ad, you’re flooded with more similar ones. If you’re looking for “everyday luxury” sheets and are looking at Brooklinen alternatives, these are the ones I love.
Why do people like Brooklinen so much?
Before we start comparing alternatives, we need to know what we’re comparing to. So, besides name recognition, what do Brooklinen products have going for them?
The main thing people seem to love about them (other than the comfort/softness) is their breathability. The line also has plenty of options so you can create your ideal bedding combo for any season or mood.
Brooklinen sheets are available in:
- Luxe Sateen (luxurious)
- Classic Percale (cool and crisp)
- Washed European Linen (soft, strong, and breathable)
- Organic Cotton (cool and cozy)
- Heathered Cashmere (soft, luxurious, and warm)
- Brushed Flannel (soft and warm, but not “hot”)
They seem to be pretty durable, too, which makes the pricetag a little easier to stomach. If your bedding helps you drift off to sleep almost as soon as your head hits the pillow and your sheets last a long time without pilling, losing shape, or otherwise falling apart, it can be worth it to pay more upfront. I don’t know how many cheap sets of sheets I’ve purchased that didn’t last long.
Here are some alternatives I’ve found (not every brand has every type of fabric Brooklinen does, but there’s usually a lot of overlap):
Top Brooklinen Alternatives at a Glance
- Parachute: Closest Alternatie, Best Variety
- Boll & Branch: Most Luxe Organic Options
- Saatva: Most Balanced Feel-to-Function Sheets
- Quince: Best Budget-Friendly Luxury
- Coyuchi: Best Laid-Back Organic Aesthetic
- Cozy Earth: Coolest Sheets for Hot Sleepers
Parachute
Right off the bat, let me say I love how many options Parachute offers. Every one of their bedding fabrics is an invitation to slip into bed and relax. Here’s what they have:
- Percale: These are made from long-staple Egyptian cotton, have a matte finish, and keep you cool because they’re so breathable (but they’re also good when it’s cold outside!).
- Linen: Linen’s synonymous with airy and breathable, the ultimate summer fabric. And theirs is delightfully soft.
- Brushed cotton: So soft, so perfect for settling in with a good book or a favorite show when it’s cold outside–the brushed cotton option is quite possibly the coziest of the bunch.
- Sateen: The sateen is for when you want a taste of luxury, thanks to another long-staple Egyptian cotton option (this time with a little bit of shine).
- TENCEL Linen: For the eco-conscious sleeper who loves the feel of luxury, these are the ones.
This is one of the better Brooklinen alternatives. You still get the variety in fabrics, quality sets, and tons of colors to choose from. The only real downside is the price.
I hope they add something to rival the brushed flannel or heathered cashmere options from Brooklinen to round out their options for all seasons (they have all seasons covered, but I feel there’s more of an emphasis on sheets that keep you cool).
Boll & Branch
Boll & Branch’s sheet selection runs the gamut from light, airy linen to heavier, cozier flannel. If you’re feeling especially spendy, you can check out their more luxurious fabrics, like Summit Supima and Reserve–silky, radiant extra-long staple cotton.
Here’s what you can find:
- Signature: You get a little bit of sheen and soft colors in breathable, organic cotton.
- Signature Vintage Washed: Even softer than the original, these offer a lived-in look and soft colors (100% organic cotton).
- Percale: The description they give here, “smooth and structured like a crisp button-down shirt,” is perfect. These are made from organic cotton, too, and meant to keep you cool and dry.
- Linen: These are the ideal summer sheets, made from 100% European flax, designed to feel luxurious and keep hot sleepers cool.
- Reserve: Silky and soft, with a sheen, these are made from extra-long staple organic cotton.
- Flannel: Perfect for cold nights, but still soft and breathable, these are 100% organic cotton.
- Summit Supima: These are their most luxurious option, especially soft, and made from American-grown extra-long staple cotton.
They cover most of the bases, but more options for cool sleepers or winter would be nice to see.
Saatva
I’ve always thought of Saatva as a mattress brand, but don’t sleep on–okay, do sleep on–their sheets. They offer a one-year warranty, too. Here’s what they have:
- Signature/Organic Sateen: 100% long staple cotton, soft, and silky, with a thread count of 300
- Percale/Banded Percale: These are another 100% long staple cotton option designed to keep you cool.
- Luxury Flannel: Warm and cozy, these are perfect for winter nights, heathered, and made from 100% long staple cotton.
- Essential Luxury: Breaking away from the 100% long staple cotton habit, these are 55% cotton and 45% viscose with 180 thread count, made for hot sleepers.
- Linen: These are lightweight, soft, and made to help you stay warm or cool, depending on the season.
My only complaint is that they only offer a few colors. Not a big deal if you like neutrals, though. It feels like they’re missing some variety, but there’s still something for every preference within this line.
Quince
These are one of the more affordable Brooklinen alternatives, and the quality is still up there. They don’t have the variety of luxurious options that Brooklinen and some of the other alternatives have, but there’s still quite a bit of crossover, and something for everyone (and every season).
You’ll see more colors and patterns here than you will in some other lines, so if you’re looking for something specific for your bedroom’s aesthetic, Quince might be the way to go. Check it out:
- European Linen: These are mid-weight, made from flax, and made to be soft from day one, but get softer over time.
- Bamboo: If you love the eco-friendliness and coolness of bamboo, these organic bamboo sheets won’t set you back as far as some other options.
- Cotton: There’s a lot of variety under Quince’s cotton sheet umbrella, so bear with me in this section while I break it down. There’s the Giza Cotton Sateen option, with a gorgeous sheen and breathability (they also offer a Luxury Organic Sateen Sheet). If it’s Classic Organic Percale you’re after because you want to slip into a cool, crisp set of sheets at the end of a long day, there are lots to choose from. These are made from 100% long staple cotton. Organic Brushed Cotton keeps you cozy and feels amazing against your skin because they’re made to be extra soft. If you’re familiar with t-shirt sheets, you know what the 100% cotton Organic Jersey sheets feel like (delicious). Their Luxury Organic Flannel is the Quince solution to winter nights, cozy and soft (but not hot). The Mongolian Cashmere Cotton sheets are another–even more luxurious–option for cool nights.
- Silk: The Mulberry silk sheets are priced higher than the other Quince options, but still comparable to a lot of Brooklinen alternatives. They’re only available in Queen and King sizes (and only three colors), but if that works for you, you’ll love the beauty perks and how they keep you at a comfortable temperature as you sleep.
Coyuchi
Overall, I’d say the Coyuchi options lean more toward the casual side of things than luxury (in appearance), but that doesn’t mean they lack quality of fabric, softness, or comfort. They’re also fairly affordable. Fabrics they offer include:
- Organic Crinkled Percale: These are made from 100% organic cotton, created to be breathable and feel soft and gentle against your skin. There’s also the similar Organic Print Percale version, with seven patterns available, as well as Floret Embroidered, Trailing Embroidered, Lattice, and Refined versions. They really did it up with the Organic Percale options.
- Organic Relaxed Linen: These are made of French linen and designed to help keep you comfortable whether it’s a warm or cool night.
- Heirloom Organic Sateen: These are made from 100% organic extra-long staple cotton grown in America, made extra-soft so it feels nice against your skin.
- Cloud Soft Organic Sateen: These are the 100% organic cotton sheets to get if you’re always cold at night. If you like the matte look for your sheets, even better.
- Cloud Brushed Organic Flannel: Warm, cozy, soft, these brushed cotton flannel sheets are perfect for snuggling up at night or sleeping in on a cold winter morning.
Cozy Earth
I hate that these are so expensive, but if you can afford them, give them a go. (Also notice that the bundles you’re presented with when you first visit the site include duvet covers.)
The sheets are all bamboo, which makes them good if you have trouble regulating your temperature at night. They’re breathable, soft, and will help keep you cool.
I do have a word of caution with these, though: I have read that the sheets can be bad about pilling, so if you order them, make the most of their 100-night trial to be sure they won’t disappoint you.
Finding the Right Brooklinen Alternative
If Brooklinen’s not quite your thing (or you just want to shop around before committing), there are plenty of dreamy alternatives that still deliver that “everyday luxury” vibe. Whether you’re a hot sleeper, a sucker for sateen, or just want sheets that feel like they belong in a boutique hotel, there’s something out there for you. I think I’ve listed all the Brooklinen alternatives I can think of. Did I miss any? Let me know in the comments!
