- In a Rest Sheets vs Miracle Sheets Showdown, Who Wins? - November 13, 2025
It’s 3 AM. You’re wide awake, sweating, and glaring at the clock, mentally calculating how much sleep you’ll get if you can just fall back to sleep right now. The air conditioner is going, and so is the overhead fan, and yet…you’re still too hot to slumber. That’s where the best sleep gadgets for hot sleepers come in, ready to save your life (and maybe someone else’s).
I’ve compiled a list of sleep gadgets for when you’re just too hot to sleep through the night, whether it’s night sweats, perimenopause, stress, or something else making you feel overheated and miserable through the night.
I pulled together options from several price points, from socks to a whole new bed setup for your room, wearables to (ironically) blankets, so there’s something for everyone to try.
Quick Take on Sleep Gadgets for Hot Sleepers
Running on empty and just want to know what to try next so you can get back to your restorative sleep? No problem. Here’s the bottom line up front:
- If you’re looking to splurge: Give your bed a makeover with The Eight Sleep Pod (with or without the base and/or cooling pillow) or Chilipad.
- If you’re on a budget: Try The Bedfan, Dosaze Adjustable Thermal Pillow, Evercool Comforter, or ZOMAPLE Cold Therapy Socks (prices range from around $10 to just over $200).
- If you’re combating anxiety and stress in addition to overheating, but still need covers to sleep well: Grab a Bearaby weighted blanket made from TENCEL or the Evercool Comforter.
- If you’re looking for a sleek, versatile option to keep you cool during the day, too: Check out Embr Wave 2 Personal Temperature Control.
- If you just want to start with an effective, low-profile fan: Try the Vornado AXL Low Profile Oscillating Fan with Remote Control or Windmill Smart Whisper Quiet Air Circulator and Fan.
The 11 Best Sleep Gadgets for Hot Sleepers
If you can relate and you’re in the market for something–anything–that’ll help you sleep cooler and wake up feeling refreshed and rested vs groggy and sweaty, one of these could help:
The Eight Sleep Pod
The Eight Sleep Pod sounds like a whole new bed–and it can be–but it can also work with what you’ve got. This has to be one of the most mindblowing options on the list, with the biggest impact. If that whole-new-bed idea kept you from exploring it when you first heard about it because you’re not looking to replace your whole setup (same), it’s still worth checking out. Some options’ll keep you happy, rested, and cool while your partner stays warm. Each side of the cover can heat or cool you to your perfect temperature.
The Pod 5 Core (cover and hub, no base) is a happy medium, with temperature control, sleep and health tracking, and even a vibration and thermal alarm. If you are looking for something more sophisticated and want a base, too, you can bump up to the Pod 5 Ultra and get all of that, plus back pressure relief, snoring mitigation, and surround-sound.
You’ll need at least a Full-sized bed (up to a Cali King; Twin isn’t available). Obviously, this is a pricey option, but they have a variety of ways to help you get the sleep you need, stat. You can pay in full, rent, finance, or use HSA or FSA money.
Eight Sleep Pillow Cover
The Eight Sleep Pillow Cover is a quick and easy way to cool down fast, but you’ll need the Pod to use it. If you’re springing for one of those anyway, consider the pillow cover, as well. It’s spendy, but if you have the budget for it, it could elevate your sleeping experience that much more (and everybody knows a cool pillow is practically heaven-sent).
ZOMAPLE Cold Therapy Socks
If you’re looking for something budget-friendly or want to give a good gift to someone you know is struggling to fall asleep because they’re just too hot to be comfortable, the ZOMAPLE Cold Therapy Socks could be a winner. They’re basically like thick socks or booties that hold ice packs (those are included).
The only downside is, you can only wear these for 15 minutes at a time–don’t sleep in them. If you’ve ever iced an injury, you know the drill. You have to give your skin a break. You (or the recipient) could wear them before bed while reading or enjoying a TV show, then take them off before sleeping. If falling asleep’s the problem, they could make all the difference.
They even come in cute colors like turquoise, lavender, and purple, in addition to the more utilitarian black and gray.
Bearaby Tree Napper Cooling Weighted Blanket
What could be worse than having anxiety and sleeping too hot simultaneously? Your body craves the weight of a specially designed blanket, while also screaming any time you put another layer on.
The Bearaby Tree Napper Cooling Weighted Blanket hits the sweet spot. It’s got the perks of a weighted blanket (10, 15, 20, or 25 lbs) made of cooling TENCEL (eucalyptus fibers) to make sure you’re cool as a cucumber in more ways than one. It’s available in five soothing, muted colors: Pebble Grey, Sage, Driftwood, Bluebell, and Lavender.
If the cold therapy socks weren’t a good option because you have trouble staying asleep, not just falling asleep, or you don’t want to worry about taking something off after 15 minutes and then trying to fall asleep, a weighted blanket for anxiety can help with that.
The care’s not quite no-brainer level, but it’s not unusually complicated, either. Wash with mild detergent in cold water, skip the fabric softeners and bleach, and then tumble dry on low. There’s also a one-year warranty on the blanket.
The Bedfan

The Bedfan is perfect if you’ve ever wished you could just put a fan in the bed with you. That’s basically what’s happening here. The device blows air under the covers, keeping you cool without leaving you feeling exposed if you need to be covered up to fall–and stay–asleep.
If you’re the only one who sleeps hot, you can easily position the Bedfan on your side of the bed. You can also adjust how much air blows and control it with a remote.
If you and your partner need help staying cool, you can put the Bedfan in the middle so you can both enjoy the benefits.
There are two sizes, and the height is adjustable on each one (19” to 28” or 28” to 38”), so unless your bed is very close to or far from the floor, it’ll work with your frame and mattress combo.
It’s not as sleek as other similar options on the list, as far as aesthetics go, but it will get the job done, it’s discreet, and when you don’t need it, it’s small enough to store easily.
Expect to pay a little over $200 for the set with the Bedfan, power supply, and remote. Financing is available.
Embr Wave 2 Personal Temperature Control

If you’ve ever run cold water over your inner wrist to cool down, you’ll immediately get the value of the Embr Wave 2 Personal Temperature Control. It’s a similar concept, amped up, and you don’t have to get out of bed and stumble to the bathroom in the dark to get some relief from overheating. It’s available in rose gold and black.
You wear the Embr Wave 2 device on your wrist like a watch, and you can control the temperature at a basic level from the gadget itself. The real magic and customization come from using it with the Embr Wave 2 app (it’s free!), however, where you can let it know if you’re having trouble with sleep, hot flashes, night sweats, etc.
If you’re experiencing overheating at night and dealing with hot flashes or temperature fluctuations caused by stress, consider wearing it during the day as well. This is one of the more versatile options on the list.
You can purchase one new or rent on a month-to-month basis. If you opt for a one-time purchase, you may be able to use HSA/FSA funds to do so.
Dosaze Thermacool Adjustable Pillow

If the Eight Sleep cooling pillow with the Pod isn’t in the cards right now, you can still enjoy a similar experience with another type of cooling pillow. They do have The Air Pillow, a ventilated memory foam pillow with gel that pulls heat away from the body, for around $200, but it’s only available in Queen and King sizes.
Some cooling pillows, like the Bedgear Night Ice Performance Pillow with cooling gel, cost even more ($299!). Either of these will help you sleep better by keeping you cooler at night, but what if you’re on a budget and already pushing the limit by looking for any kind of gadget for hot sleepers at all?
As an alternative, try the Dosaze Thermacool Adjustable Pillow. You get a 60-day trial, and if you only need one, you’ll pay around $140 (the two-pack is about $220). This one is also ventilated memory foam, and it’s cold to the touch. It’s designed to work for all sleeping positions, so even if you spend some night on your side and some nights on your back, you’ll be comfortable. The bamboo cover is a nice–also cooling–touch.
Chilipad

The Chilipad is similar to the Eight Sleep Pod. It costs less, but you get fewer features (it’s most comparable to the basic Eight Sleep Pod 4). To save more, you can opt for a certified renewed one. Financing is available, or you can use HSA/FSA funds.
Chilipad uses water to heat or cool the bed (you and your partner can each enjoy your desired temperatures), and you can use a remote or the app to adjust as necessary.
One upside? You can choose “Me” or “We,” which means if your partner’s content with the bed and temperature the way they are, you can just cover your side of the bed and get as chilly as you’d like without changing anything for them. Plus, you’ll save money. The downside is that it only comes in Queen, King, and Cali King.
Evercool Comforter

I don’t know if a comforter counts as a “gadget,” exactly, but it’s worth a mention if it’s a product you can use that’ll make your nighttime hours more restful. The Evercool Comforter is cool to the touch, moisture-wicking (perfect for night sweats), and available in six gorgeous, soothing colors for Twin/Twin XL, Full/Queen, and King/Cali King.
You can even layer it up with the matching sheets and/or pajamas. There’s a whole Evercool line to consider, so you can mix and match in the ways you suspect would be most beneficial for you.
Care’s pretty easy–just pop it in the washer. It’s also even more breathable than cotton or bamboo.
Vornado AXL Low Profile Oscillating Fan with Remote Control
Sometimes, you just need a fan that’ll direct the air just right without taking up a lot of real estate in your bedroom, and the Vornado AXL does just that.
It can sit on a dresser or nightstand (it’s not even that tall–5.25”–so it won’t necessarily compete with your bedside lamp), it’s quiet, and it can take the coolest air in the room and direct it where you need it most.
If it’s not within arm’s length, that’s okay because it comes with a remote. You can choose between five speed settings, let it oscillate, and tilt it up or down so it’s directing the air exactly where you want it.
Expect to pay about $100 for this one.
Windmill Smart Whisper Quiet Air Circulator and Fan
Similarly, the Windmill Smart Whisper Quiet Air Circulator and Fan sits on a dresser or nightstand and lets you control it via app, choosing between Whisper, Low, Medium, High, and Boost to keep the air cool and flowing.
It’s taller than the Vornado AXL at 11.2” and looks more like a traditional fan, but the Windmill Smart Whisper is still relatively compact, effective, and comes in three colors. Once you find your perfect setting, you can save it and go back to it rather than fiddling with the settings to find it again when you’re just ready to go to sleep.
This fan is around $80.
